Shine On Run

On March 14, Orchard Hills elementary students will light up the track in support of physical education and sports at the Shine On Run. With 80s vibes and neon energy, the Shine On Run is glowing up to be the most electric event of the year! Students will rock their neon gear, run laps, and raise funds to unlock exciting rewards and epic parties. Every donation helps our school shine brighter!

The Shine On Run is so much more than a run! It’s a spectacular spectrum of rad rewards, electric events, and dazzling prizes. And, with a fundraising goal of $65,000, it's the biggest fundraising event of the year!

The Shine On Run is this year's neon-themed iteration of the annual OH Elementary jog-a-thon. Every year, the jog-a-thon raises funds for physical education and sports programs for OH Elementary students.

We know what you're thinking ... is P.E. really that important? Yes! P.E. is a fundamental hue in the spectrum of a well-rounded education. Studies show that when kids participate in high-quality P.E. and sports programs, they learn body awareness, develop strength and endurance, and have better health outcomes in adulthood. And that’s not all! Students build confidence, practice teamwork, and create healthy habits to serve them for a lifetime. P.E. and sports teach kids to work hard and prioritize their health so they can grow into the brightest version of themselves.

Without your support, OH elementary students would not have access to a specialized P.E. educator, safe and maintained sports equipment, or extra-curricular sports.

Supporting the Shine On Run is easy - every donation helps our students glow brighter and fuels our elementary PE and sports programs. Here's how you can contribute:

1. Online: Donate to your student's unique fundraising page at orchardhillsCApto.membershiptoolkit.com. See detailed instructions on finding your student's page below.
2. Share: Share the fundraiser with family and friends by adding their email addresses into the Membership Toolkit or sending a donation link. 
3. Cash or Check: Turn in cash and check donations to your student's teacher. Checks can be made payable to: Orchard Hills PTO

To find your student's fundraising page from My Account in Membership Toolkit:

1. Login in to Membership Toolkit and click on "My Account"
2. Find My Pages, and then Fundraising Campaigns.
3. Check that your student is in the correct class! If they are not, please scroll down to learn how to update your Family Information in Membership Toolkit

To find your student's fundraising page from the Shine On Run Main Page:

1. Click on the Shine On Run banner on the homepage, or find "Shine On Run" under Fundraisers in the Main Navigation menu
2. Find the leaderboard on the right side of the screen, and click on your student's teacher
3. Find your student 

If you can't locate your student under your student's teacher, it means that your Family Information is out-of-date (they are still under their teacher from last year) or you do not have an account in Membership Toolkit. If that is the case, you can find detailed information about How to Update your Family Information in the Shine On Run Parent Resource Hub along with other details about the event.

To share the fundraiser via Membership Toolkit: enter email addresses of your contacts into the system (My Account < My Pages < Fundraising Campaigns < Edit My Student). When you add emails, the system automatically generates an email to your contacts that links directly to your student's fundraising page. Don't worry, we do not share this information with anyone, and we will not spam your contacts! Contacts entered into the system will receive one email during the first two weeks of the fundraiser, two emails the third week, and two-to-three emails the last week before the run. Once a contact donates, they do not receive any more emails. 

If you would like to invite your contacts to donate via text message or your own email, please be sure that you are linking directly to your student's unique fundraising page.

• “Glow Getters” Classroom Goal: $3,500
• “Shine Squad” Student Goal: $200

The Flash of Fortune Opportunity Drawing gives kids the chance to score some totally rad prizes—all while supporting our Shine On Run fundraising efforts. The more you participate, the brighter their chances to win!

For every $10 your student raises, they earn one Opportunity Ticket to use in the Flash of Fortune Opportunity Drawing. The Drawing offers chances to win rad prizes such as VIP tickets to the Magic Castle, In N Out lunch with Mr. Kilian, Apple products, and gift cards galore.

Ways to earn extra tickets:

• Shine On Squad (students that hit the $200 goal): 10 Opportunity Tickets
• Neon Networkers (add 10+ emails to Membership Toolkit): 5 Opportunity Tickets 

The energy is building, and the rewards are electric! When students and classes hit their Glow Goals, they unlock epic Electric Events—from neon-fueled parties to rad experiences they won’t forget. Check out the high-voltage celebrations waiting to be won!
